The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
